Jonathan Young

Jonathan Young is Co-Founder and Chairman of Gryphon Holdings. He is an investment banking professional with two decades of experience in the emerging markets of the CEEMEA region.

Prior to founding Gryphon, Jonathan was an investment banker at Chase Manhattan Bank and held senior positions at Carnegie, where he built the Emerging Markets arm into the leading independent brokerage house for the CEEMEA region.

During his investment banking career, Jonathan, has become known for his exceptional corporate finance skills and creative approach to transactions in the CEEMEA region.

Jonathan has a first class master's degree in English from Queens' College, Cambridge and is a British national.

Nicholas Moy

Nicholas Moy is Co-Founder and Chairman of Gryphon Emerging Markets. With 40 years experience he is a founder of private equity in Europe and one of the UK's most respected experts on the Middle East.

He served with both the British Army and Foreign Service in the Middle East and South East Asia before co-founding Granville, the leading mid-market investment bank that was sold in 1998, where he was responsible for the group international operations in Western and Eastern Europe.

Nicholas is Chairman/Non-Executive Director of a number of high profile companies, including Greenpark Capital International, Cordoba Islamic Finance Group and Dolphin Capital International (Real Estate).

He holds a master's degree in Oriental Languages (Arabic and Persian) and Law (including Shariah) from St. Catharine's College, Cambridge and an MBA from Wharton Business School. He is a British national.

Shrenik Davda

Shrenik Davda is Chief Executive Officer. He has thirty years of investment and commercial banking experience with JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank where he helped build market leading corporate finance franchises in Central & Eastern Europe.

Shrenik was Co-Founder of New Europe Capital Partners Ltd, a Central & Eastern Europe focused corporate finance advisory firm based in London which was acquired by Deutsche Bank in 2007. Shrenik started his career with Gulf International Bank in Bahrain and spent four years focussing on GCC project finance and commercial banking.

Shrenik holds a Law degree form the London School of Economics and an MBA from INSEAD. He is a British citizen.

Steven van Weede

Steven van Weede is the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining the firm, Steven was Director in Citigroup's emerging markets team and was focused on the origination and execution of M&A and financing transactions.

In over 15 years of investment banking experience, of which 13 in emerging markets, Steven held various origination and execution positions in corporate finance and M&A with Merrill Lynch, Paribas and Carnegie Emerging Markets.

Steven holds a master's degree in Economics and Finance from Groningen University. He is a Dutch national.

Robert T.Hinaman

Robert T. Hinaman is a Director of Gryphon Holdings and responsible for developing relationships with US corporates and investors, as well as providing aerospace sector expertise.

Robert is an investment banker with over 35 years of experience. He has held senior positions at Chemical Bank, Chase Manhattan, JP Morgan Chase and Jefferies Quarterdeck, where he was Managing Director. He continues to play an active role as a principle at Acorn Growth Equities, a specialist aerospace and defence fund. Over his career he has been involved in over USD$10 billion of transactions.

He is an acknowledged specialist in aerospace and defence corporate finance transactions. Robert holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics from Lafayette College. Robert is an American national.

Alexander (Sasha) Babitsky

Alexander (Sasha) Babitsky is Director - CIS at Gryphon Emerging Markets and is responsible for origination across the CIS region.

Prior to joining Gryphon, Sasha founded N.G.NIR Consulting, an operational and strategic consultancy firm to technology companies. He has also held various senior positions in technology and manufacturing firms operating in the CIS region.

Sasha joined Gryphon with a specific focus on developing relationships with entrepreneurs. He has an in-depth understanding of the specific challenges of entrepreneurial organisations.

Sasha holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from Israeli Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Oxford. He is an Israeli national.

Jason Foss
Vice President

Jason Foss is a Vice President at Gryphon Emerging Markets and leads the transaction execution effort for the CIS region.

Prior to joining Gryphon, he worked in healthcare investment banking for over 12 years, most recently at Citigroup where he served as a Vice President in the Global Healthcare Group.  Jason has worked on a variety of financing and M&A transactions in Europe and the United States during the course of his career, across the entire spectrum of healthcare subsectors, including pharmaceuticals, medical technology, life sciences and service based businesses.  He has particular knowledge of healthcare in the CEEMEA region.

Jason holds a BA in Psychology from Georgetown University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a Russian speaker and an American national.

Pawel Pawlowski
Director - Poland

Pawel Pawlowski is a Director - Poland at Gryphon Emerging Markets and heads the origination effort for Poland. Prior to joining Gryphon, Pawel was a Partner at Church & Co. LLP, a firm specialised in financial control and due diligence activities for dynamic financial services companies.

Pawel has worked closely with Gryphon for almost a decade. In 2007, he joined the company in London working on execution and origination. In 2010, he moved to Poland to run the Polish offices.

Pawel received a master's degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Economics in Wroclaw and holds an ACCA accountancy qualification. He is a Polish citizen.
